The Bishops of Venezuela, supported by Vatican, notified about the potential fraud in the elections for the Constituent Assembly promoted by President Nicolas Maduro, in the country and demanded immediate solutions in this regard. The United Nations Human Rights Office has warned the Venezuelan government over the use of excessive force against protestors in the country who revolted against the present regime.

As reported by Catholic News Agency, His Excellency Bishop Jose Luis Azuaje Ayala of Barinas, Vice President of the Venezuelan Bishops’ Conference remarked that “We are very concerned about the complexity of the situation above all because of the moral degradation that has become present in the country.” Further His Grace added, “The Bishops of the country hold a good hope despite the fact that every day we feel a greater repression of the government through different state agencies or feel the same because of fear of certain groups, the government has lost its legitimacy and authority.”

His Excellency Bishop Luis also reminded about the increasing rate of deaths in the country of which 25 percent have been murdered by state security agencies and 40 percent by groups of armed civilians and there are more than 1500 wounded with above thousands of detainees, just because of their opposition against the present government.
