While shooting for ‘Love and Mercy’ a movie of St. Faustina, the female protagonist who played the role of the saint testified of having experienced God’s presence. Camila Kaminska, the Polish actress revealed her experience while filming the movie, in a candid interview with the Catholic News Service. She also mentioned that the possession of St. Faustina’s personal diary was of great help throughout the filming.
Kaminska mentioned that she made it a point to read the entire diary before the shooting began and that the diary gave her clear instructions on how to build and narrate the character. In the interview, the actress confessed that she hadn’t auditioned for the role of the female protagonist. However, the directors changed her role to the lead as they found her apt.
She urges the world to be thankful to the saint for propagating the thought that God loves us unconditionally, no matter how wrong we are. She continued to say that we all deserve the love of God, rightfully.
The movie released on the 28th of October 2019 has garnered great responses from the audience.
