Calcutta: Dr. Shyamal Bose was appointed as the new Bishop of West Bengal. He was the Co-Adjugator of the Diocese. Bishop Salvador Lobo retired after he turned 75-year-old.
Dr. Bose, the Bishop of Gozaba in Baruipur is 59 years old. He was appointed bishop in May last year. Born in Mysuru, Karnataka, Bishop Dr. Morris was formerly an assistant to the Archdiocese of Calcutta. Asanbal was the first bishop of the diocese.
