The faithful should work together to solve the issues being faced by the archdiocese, Syro-Malabar Church Archbishop His Eminence Cardinal Mar George Alencherry has said. “We should reach unity through faith and try to become matured,” he said while delivering introductory message at the installation ceremony of Bishop Mr Jacob Manathodath as the Apostolic Administrator of Ernakulam-Angamaly Archdiocese at the St Mary’s Cathedral Basilica here on Saturday.

As reported by Indian Express, His Grace Mar Manathodath in his speech said, “The Church has bestowed a major responsibility on me. I will strive to restore peace and unity in the Church. I am honoured to work as a tool to bring back unity in the Church. I pray to the Lord to help me make the archdiocese stronger and enable the spiritual growth of the Church.”

Apostolic Nuncio to India Giambattista Diquattro read the message of Prefect of the Congregation for Oriental Churches Leonardo Cardinal Sandri. Curia chancellor Fr Antony Kollannur read the order from Vatican appointing Mar Jacob Manathodath as the Apostolic Administrator.
