Fr. Felix Rebello(60), the parish priest of Infant Jesus Church, Jogeshwari, passed away on June 28, 2018. The Funeral Mass was held on Saturday 30th June at 3:00 pm at Infant Jesus Church, Jogeshwari followed by burial at St John the Evangelist Church, Marol, Mumbai.

Ordained in 1994, Fr. Felix began his priestly journey as the Assistant Parish Priest at St. Joseph Church, (Vikroli). Since then, he has served in the parishes of Our Lady of Mercy Church (Pokhran), St. Francis Xavier Church (Panvel) and in 2015, he was appointed as the Parish Priest of Infant Jesus Church (Jogeshwari East). Through his selfless service for the Church, Fr. Felix Rebello made a difference to many lives.

Fr. Felix was a strong ally for the environment, constantly encouraging people to use greener alternatives, himself practicing what he preached. It was way back in 2011, while serving as Parish Priest at St. Francis Xavier Church (Panvel), that he headed a zero-garbage program that transformed wet waste into manure. Every day, the wet waste from the kitchen of the church in Panvel would make its way into the blue plastic drums that were kept on the open terrace. While most of the manure was used for the growth flower and vegetable plants on the terrace, the extra was packed and sold. Proceeds of the program were then used to provide for a new church. Carrying forward his mission, a waste management system was also set up at the Infant Jesus Church terrace garden in Jogeshwari, the last parish he served at.
