The relatives of Fr. Martin Xavier Vazhachira, who was found dead on a beach near Edinburg University, Scotland on 23rd June, 2017, have prepared themselves to receive the immortal remains of the late Fr. Martin, which is expected to arrive at Kochi International Airport at 9:00a.m, on 3rd August, 2017, as per the information received from Scotland. The funeral is dated on 4th August, 2017.

To pay the last respects by the family members, the remains will be brought home to Vazhachira house, Pulinkunnu, by around 12:30p.m on the day of arrival. After the public homage, the body will be taken to the mortuary at St. Thomas Hospital, Chethipuzha and kept there for a night. On 4th August, at 8:00a.m, the immortal remains will be brought to the S.H.Monastery church at Chethipuzha and the funeral services will commence at 11:00a.m after paying the public homage.

Fr. Martin Xavier was ordained a priest of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate in Kerala at the age of 33, in 2013 and he reached Scotland for doing his post graduation in Edinburg University and had been serving at St. John Baptist Church in Corstorphine at Edinburg. The cause of his death remains unknown; he was found dead in the beach on West Barns which is 28miles east of Edinburg.
