His Eminence Cardinal Baselios Cleemis, the current Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, conveyed that there is a growing concern among the minorities and highlighted that the government should be responsible enough to provide the justice guaranteed by the Indian constitution to the minorities in the country. His Lordship Cardinal Cleemis was speaking at a press conference held at the CBCI headquarters, after a meeting with Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi, regarding the recent Satna attacks against Christians.

As reported by pravachakasabdam.com, His Eminence Cardinal Cleemis reflected on the injustice happened in Satna, Madhya Pradesh, where the Christmas carol group was detained by Police and he remarked that “There is a lot of pain and concern regarding the incident that took place in Satna, Madhya Pradesh. The government ensured that immediate actions would be taken against the perpetrators behind this incident.”

Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman PJ Kurian, Union Minister Alphonse Kannanthanam and CBCI’s Deputy Secretary-General Msgr. Joseph Chinnayyan and the Home Minister along with Cardinal were among the discussions.
