His Eminence Cardinal Mar George Alencherry, Major Archbishop of Syro-Malabar Church, while addressing the gathering at the 33rd General Body Meeting of Catholic Bishops Conference of India, conveyed that the main aim of the church is to develop human dignity in the world. Mar George Alencherry also highlighted that Jesus Christ is the Savior who was born to save the deteriorating human dignity in the world.

As reported by lifedayonline.com, Mar George Alencherry remarked that “Religious persecutions against Christians are increasing nowadays in India. In every religion, there will be people whose disturbing thoughts create religious conflicts and so it is not possible to point fingers at one particular group.” Further, Mar Alencherry added, “To proclaim the word of God means to give and spread the message of Jesus Christ to the world and our main aim is to help the world develop through the shared virtues and values.”

 The 33rd General Body Meeting of CBCI that began at the St John’s Medical College auditorium in Bengaluru on February 2 will conclude on 9th February, 2018.
