A Catholic Priest from Kerala has received international academic recognition. Fr. John Vayalilkarottu OFMConv. who works as an Assistant Priest at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Springvale, in the Archdiocese of Melbourne, and who hails from Poonjar, Kottayam District, Kerala, India, received the honorary Fellowship of the International Institute of Organisational Psychological Medicine. The Fellowship was awarded to him in recognition for his praiseworthy contribution in the field of the Psychology of Religion and Marian Spirituality as well as human capital potential enhancement and productivity.

Fr. John received his honorary Fellowship, along with eminent dignitaries and experts from India and overseas who made substantial contributions in the area of human capital empowerment during the Sixth Convocation held in Hyderabad last month.

Fr. John Vayalilkarottu OFM Conv. is currently undertaking his PhD studies in Marian Spirituality, together with his pastoral responsibilities in Melbourne, Australia. He is the fourth child of the late Chacko and Annamma Vayalilkarottu, and a member of the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor Conventual.
