His Excellency Mar Joseph Perumthottam, Archbishop of Changanassery Archeparchy while addressing the gathering at a convention conveyed that warnings should be given to all the pro-liquor policies in the society. The public convention was organized by Anti-Liquor Vishalasakyam at Chengannur YMCA Hall.

As reported by Deepika.com, Mar Perumthottam remarked that “We should be able to raise our voice when the government tries to impose anti-democratic policies. Anti-liquor policies should be strengthened here. Opening the bars cannot be seen as a social service. Unable to keep one’s own words should be considered as an evidence of dishonesty.”

The main aim of the convention was to highlight the significance of imposing anti-liquor policies in the society. His Grace Bishop Yoohanon Mar Chrysostom presided over the convention.
