His Eminence Cardinal Oswald Gracias, Archbishop of Archdiocese of Bombay, requested Rajnath Singh, Home Minister of India, to never allow any kind of persecutions against minorities in the country. His Eminence Cardinal Gracias who is also the president of Catholic Bishops Conference of India (CBCI) asked the Home Minister to take proper actions and urged him to warn the nation to keep religious harmony all over.

As reported by catholicvox.com, His Eminence Cardinal Gracias remarked that “I don’t think that Christians are being persecuted everywhere in the country but it is very unfortunate to see some evil powers creating conflicts and separation among the people in the name of religion. The government should steadily give strict warnings against such persecutions and wrong powers.” Further, His Eminence added, “There are various incidents increasing in the country which creates disturbances and concern among the minorities but the government is not doing anything effective to stop such actions.”

The President of CBCI termed his meeting with the Home Minister as a productive one.
