KOCHI: The Kerala Catholic Bishops’ Council has announced a fast and prayer day on the occasion of Covid 19th. KCBC President Major Archbishop Cardinal Mar George Alencherry and Vice President said that the lockdown has been announced and everyone should be happy to help. Varghese Chakkalakkal and Secretary-General Joseph Mar Thomas reminded the diocese of the diocese.

The church’s hospitals and other institutions, if needed, can afford coronary treatment and prevention through the sacrificial dedication of the management of such institutions, doctors, nurses and other health care professionals. The ministry of the needy is the light of our faith. We need doctors, nurses, health workers, and policemen who have worked tirelessly to fight coronavirus, and to commend and pray for them.

We must take care of the instructions given by the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister and the District Governments to ensure the safety of the people. Our neighborly love should be enlightened when ordinary people who are living on a daily wage, the poor, and those who have no income, suffer. The letter reminds the church to focus on community service groups, youth organizations, and parishes to help those in need by following the lockdown directive.
