His Eminence Cardinal Mar Baselios Cleemis, CBCI President and Syro-Malankara Church Major Archbishop, after the inauguration of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Pastoral Proportional Councils in Pala diocese, Kerala and the 31st death anniversary of Mar Sebastian Vayalil conveyed that the diocese of Pala has always seen the Church’s Mission forefront. His Lordship Cardinal Cleemis highlighted that the Church’s growth is through the fellowship of the Church and said that the two main modules/samitis of the diocese are: the Presbyterian Council and the Pastoral Council.
As reported by pravachakasabdam.com, His Eminence Cardinal Cleemis remarked that “Glorious families, missionary priests, spiritual clergies of Pala Diocese are credible, presbyter and pastoral councils will help the clergies, priests, nuns and the laity to stay united.” Further, His Lordship Cardinal added, “Faithful Christians families are the foundation of Pala Diocese.”
The meeting was held at Pala Cathedral Parish Hall. Pastoral Council Chairman Dr. Syriac Thomas presided over the meeting. His Excellency Bishop Mar Jacob Murikkan, His Excellency Bishop Mar Joseph Pallikamparambil, Sabha Tharam John Kachiramattam, Prof. Philomena Jose, Presbyteral Council secretary, Rev. Fr. Dr. George Njarakunnel, Pastoral Council Secretary Siju Sebastian addressed the crowd gathered.
