His Excellency Mar Joseph Powathil,  Archbishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Changanacherry, while addressing the gathering at the retirement ceremony of teachers and non-teaching staffs from Catholic institutes, conveyed the significance of education and the role of the Church in it. The farewell ceremony was organized by the corporate management at SB Higher Secondary School auditorium, under the guidance of His Grace Archbishop Mar Joseph Perumthottam. Mar Powathil highlighted that the educational services provided by the Church have always been auspicious and bright.

As reported by syromalabarchurch.in, His Grace Mar Perumthottam remarked that “Teaching is a glorious service that should be carried out faithfully. In today’s modern world, the teachers have the responsibility to guide a student’s path towards righteousness.”

Teachers and non-teaching staffs from different institutes, Central PTA Academic Council, Catholic Teachers Guild representatives, families of retiring members, attended the meeting.
