The Philippines’ National Youth Commission has called out the church leaders to play significant role in the campaign conducting by the government to fight against teenage pregnancy in the country.  The factor contributing to teen pregnancy are many but the core one recognized  is that there is no one to guide the youth of the country .  The churches in the Philippines have ensured to extend their full support to the initiative.

As reported by the ucanindia.in, James de Vera, executive director of the Ten Accomplished Youth Organization Awards Foundation, conveyed that “Youth formation programs of the church continue to be relevant. And the church is one sector that can best influence our youth nowadays.”

As per the data, teen-pregnancy is increasing at a higher rate in the Philippines, in 2011; there were 203,653 reported cases equivalent to an increase of 6,219 in only three years.
