His Eminence Cardinal Mar George Alencherry, Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, in his Christmas message to the faithful, conveyed that Christmas gives us the inspiration to keep up our hope to go ahead by overcoming all the struggles in life. Mar George Alencherry remembered the victims of Ockhi Cyclone and highlighted that the worldwide calamities including Tsunami and Ockhi have affected the happiness that Christmas gives.

As reported by syromalabarchurch.in, His Lordship Mar George Alencherry remarked that “Sadness has accompanied happiness even in the first Christmas. In the name of Jesus’s birth, how many innocent babies were killed! A person who is been undergoing terrible sufferings in his life told me that this year he will celebrate his Christmas with these babies who were killed in the name of Jesus.”

Mar George Alencherry concluded his message by reminding that amid the increasing sadness and worries in the world, the peace and happiness which we receive in the birth of Jesus is still unbelievable. He wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
