Kochi: Major Archbishop Cardinal Mar George Alencherry of the Syro-Malabar Church, said that the Church will produce the fruits of faith as it gives life to fertile ways of flowing uninterrupted waters. He was speaking after inaugurating the Mission Conference at Mount St. Thomas, Kakkanad, the headquarters of the Caucasus, representing the various dioceses of the Syro-Malabar Dioceses and dedicated communities. He added that Christian evangelism is evangelism and its development is missionary.

Around 250 delegates participated in the Mission Conference, jointly organized by the Major Archy Episcopal Commission and the Syro-Malabar Mission Office for Evangelization and Missionary Care of the Diaspora. Participation and discussions were held at the conference to facilitate the holistic missionary growth of the Syro-Malabar Church. The Chairman of the Commission Bishop Mar Rafael Tattle gave the keynote address on the new missionary potential of the Church.

Bishop Mar Joseph Pandarasurel, Episcopal Member of the Commission, Bishop Mar Sebastian Vaniyapurakkal of Kuria and Rev. Fr. Dr. Sebastian Muttamthottil, Syro Malabar Mission Secretary Fr. Siju Azhakam, Office Secretaries Sister Rosemin, Sister Namrata and representatives of various charitable movements.
