Writer and family writer Leela Lawler discusses the importance of family prayer. In an interview with LifeSiteNews, she said parents should set an example to their children by praying daily in a specially chosen location in the home. Leela Lawler, a mother of seven, said the Bible, the Crucifixion, and other sacred objects were to be placed in the place where the culture of prayer is to be cultivated at home. The author also explained the need to follow the guidelines laid down by Bishop Athanasius Schneider, the bishop of the Astana diocese of Kazakhstan, for Catholic families to survive today’s modern culture.

Bishop Schneider said Catholic parents should pray together and pray with their children and cultivate the culture of the household church. Leela Lawler added that Bishop’s words are touching to the heart. The book The Little Oratory, published by Sophia Institute Press in 2014, received great acclaim. Leaders, including Catholic theologian Scott Hahn, came to the scene to congratulate Leela Lawler.
