Catholic prelates from the Hindi speaking areas of northern India have prayed for justice for the innocent victims of rape and murder in India. A large number of people joined 28 bishops at the April 18 evening program in front of the cathedral gate.

His Grace Archbishop William D’Souza of Patna, chairman of the Hindi Region Bishops organized the candlelight prayer service organized by the Sacred Heart Cathedral in New Delhi along with Signis India and Delhi Archdiocesan Youth Commission.

His Excellency Archbishop Anil Couto of Delhi lit the first candle with a prayer of dispelling the darkness of injustice with the light of Christ, while the gathering intoned the psalm 7 from the Old Testament for prayer for Justice.
