Calcutta: RSS workers bombed Christian churches and shouted Jai Shri Ram, in Bengal. A group of eight men attacked the church. The incident took place at Bhagwanpur in East Midnapore, about 120 km from Kolkata. Three people were arrested in connection with the attack. As they arrived for the prayer, the church was demolished. The extremist Hindus were arrested on a complaint by Alok Ghosh.

The complaint states that all the eight attackers were BJP RSS activists. On Saturday afternoon, believers arrived at the shrine and the bombs exploded. As people descended, the group entered the church and smashed chairs, tables, windows, and microphones. Though attacks on Christian places of worship have been reported in places like Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi, this is the first such incident in Bengal.
