The Fact-finding team appointed by the Churches in Goa to find out the real culprits behind the increasing vandalisms of crosses and shrines in the state complains that the police investigation team is not appropriate in finding out the criminals and proclaims that the search is scripted. The police had arrested a person allegedly in this regard for vandalizing more than 150 religious structures in the state but the alleged person is declared as a mentally unstable person, for which the Fact-finding team pointed out that it was purely to divert attention from actual culprits.

As reported by ucanews.com, a Goa archdiocesan (name not revealed) stated, “The police are following a familiar script that is being followed across the country to pacify civil society and affected communities and divert attention from the real perpetrators.”

An estimated number of around 50 crosses are destroyed in God since June,2017 and the Church officials in the state believes this probe mainly focuses on creating  a conflict between the Christians and Hindus in the state, in the name of religion.
