Brasilia: Brazilian Human Rights Family Minister Damares Alves has launched a special project in collaboration with the Evangelical Church for sexual purity among teenagers. A campaign called ‘I choose to wait’  has been launched to take into account the lack of sanctity of life, the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, and the increasing number of pregnant teens. The aim of the ‘I Choose to Wait’ campaign is to promote traditional Christian values of sexuality, sanctity, and marriage.

‘Choice to Wait’ says to live a life of holiness and purity based on the scriptures. The minister also revealed that a large section of minors are having sex because of social pressure. The minister said the campaign was aimed at raising awareness about the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, premature pregnancy and preserving the body. Meanwhile, pro-abortion organizations and advocates of homosexuality have come out against the “hot white” campaign.

The current Brazilian president, Jair Bolzonaro, however, has a strong Christian faith. Brazilian President Jair Bolzonaro has accused the country’s left-wing opposition of promoting sexuality among teenagers. Bolsonaro has announced that a program to distribute homosexual kit, launched by former President Dilma Rousseff in schools, has been canceled. Such practices have given him great support among conservative Catholics and among the Evangelical church members.
