Syro Malabar Church launched Ecumenical Directory named ‘Called to be United’ under the guidance of Syro Malabar Ecumenical Commission, aiming to unite the Churches in true Faith with proper information, on 30th August, 2017 at Kakkanad Mount St. Thomas, by His Eminence Cardinal George Alencherry, Major Archbishop of Syro-Malabar Catholic Church giving the first copy of the directory to His Excellency Archbishop George Valiamattam.
As reported by syromalabarchurch.in, His Eminence Cardinal George Alencherry remarked that “Let this ecumenical directory be helpful in uniting the activities of the Syro-Malabar Church and let this reach out to the faithful with proper information regarding the Church.” His Excellency Archbishop Mar Joseph Perumthottam, Ecumenical Commission Chairman explained the importance of the directory while Rev. Dr.Cherian Karukaparambil, Commission Secretary, detailed the contents of the directory.
The contents of the directory include the history of the Syro-Malabar Church, the history of Marthoma Nazranis in Kerala, Unity of Catholic churches with Non-Catholic churches etc.
