BEIJING (AP) – A North Korean Christian woman who was imprisoned for leading a Bible study class has been released. The woman, who was not named for security reasons, has been released from custody and joined her husband and children, according to a Christian charity Open Doors USA. They had been in the Chinese detention center for about ten months.

The woman, who was arrested from the North Korean border in August last year, will be extradited to North Korea. Open Doors points out that if it had been handed over to North Korea, Hitler’s Auschwitz concentration camp would have been sent to a detention center. An estimated five million believers are living in forced labor in North Korea, where god-fearing is considered a threat to the nation.

A believer released from North Korea’s Kwani-li-soo detention center has revealed that Christians are being sent to such detention camps without trial. She revealed that most of the Christians were taken to Quani-li-so, where no one would escape, but with God’s grace. North Korea ranks first in the world for Christian persecution.
