Ras Al Khaimah: St Mary’s Private High School, the first Catholic school in Ras al Khaimah to be included in the United Arab Emirates, was inaugurated. Sheikh Saud bin Zakr Al-Qasimi, the ruler of the Ras al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) and the chairman of the Ras al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), performed the school’s formal opening ceremony on Tuesday. The inauguration was in the presence of Bishop Paul Hinder, the Apostolic Vicar of Southern Arabia. The school is built on the land donated by Sheikh Saud bin Zakr al-Qasimi in Khalifa Bin Zayed City.

The school has an English medium syllabus which can accommodate up to 1,000 students. Education is provided from basic level to A-level. Informal activities, including admissions to schools, have begun since last September. Nearly three hundred children have already been admitted. Sheikh Saud bin Zakr Al-Qasimi inaugurated the inaugural message saying that the school can provide the benefits of a strong educational system that can include all sections of society and impart values ​​such as tolerance, respect and professional justice to children.
