The Vatican Press Office said in a statement that all sections of the Vatican that were shut down due to the coronavirus infection will resume on Monday, May 4.

The Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parole, chaired a meeting of the Vatican’s departments on Wednesday morning to decide on the activities of the second phase of the Kovid 19 National Defense Plan.

With the virus outbreak in the country still recovering, various departments will resume their operations with caution. Cardinal Parolin called on the heads of various departments to work to ensure the service of the pope and the global church, while still complying with all preventive measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

Cardinal Parolin thanked all at the conference for their cooperation in ensuring that Italy and the Vatican cooperated in a manner that was consistent with the initial regulations.
