Thrissur: During the lockdown amidst the Covid crisis, the Archdiocese of Thrissur, in collaboration with Forane CLC, prepared 14 complete Bible manuscripts. Inaugurated by Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Thrissur Mar Tony Nilankal, the initiative was led by a team of 140 people from each forane. Each of the 2500 CLC workers in the various forane of the Archdiocese was given a passage to write.

General instructions were also given to be careful when writing. The copying took place over a period of one week, from April 26 to May 3, at home. More than 30,000 papers were used. Two thousand to two thousand five hundred pages for each manuscript. Many printers were not ready to bind so many pages together. Shaji, who runs Vista Offset Press in Karamuk, then completed the binding of 14 Bibles in 14 days.

Dedication of Bible manuscripts will take place today at 3.30 pm at Thrissur Bishop’s House. Bible manuscripts submitted by various Forane presidents will be received by the Archdiocese of Thrissur under Mar Andrews and Mar Tony Nilankal. Certificates will be awarded to all participants in the Bible Manuscript Yajna.
