Niamey: A video has surfaced showing the Catholic priest abducted by Islamic extremist Jamaat Nusrat ul Islam wa al Muslim in the African country of Niger. Rev. Fr. Pierluigi Makali, who has just disappeared from Mali a few days ago, has now emerged on the ground with Niccolo Ciazi, an Italian tourist. The video is 23 seconds long. The footage is believed to have been shot on March 24.
The priest’s brother, Fr. Fr., said he was very happy to know that his brother was alive. Walter Macauley responded to the Christian charity Aid to the Church in Need. The minister in Liberia said that many years had passed since he had no information and was not expecting the news of his brother. He added that he is looking forward to the opportunity to meet together and continue his prayers.
