KUMBANAD: The great Bishop of the Mar Thoma Church, Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom, celebrated his 103rd birthday on a simple note. The Metropolitan was born on April 27, 1918. Mar Chrysostom Metropolitan, who has been leading the group, and is one of the longest-serving priests in the global Christian churches, celebrated his birthday with a simple ceremony at the Kumbanadu Fellowship Hospital. In the morning, the Holy Mass was celebrated and President Joseph Mar Thoma delivered the special prayer.

The bishop then cut the Vattayappam and handed it to the great bishop. Despite the physical circumstances, Mar Chrysostom welcomed the bishop with greetings of joy. Church Secretary G. Joseph, Treasurer PP. Achencunj, Rev. Fr. Binu Varghese felicitated the Metropolitan. MLAs Raju Abraham, Veena George, District Panchayat President Annapoornadevi, and Block Panchayat member Bijili P. were also in the hospital.

Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala, Baselios Mar Thoma Paulose Secondary Catholic Catholic Bawa, Minister Ramachandran Kadannappally Sudheeran and others greeted him on the phone.
