Vatican City: Pope Francis is calling on the Church to love the Church and serve the public in the context of Corona. As part of his regular series of public addresses on Wednesday, the Pope addressed the online audience from the Papal Library at the Apostolic Palace on April 29, the feast day of St. Catherine of Siena.

Inspired by the example of St. Catherine, the pope prayed to save Italy from the epidemic and to ask the Holy See’s help to keep the continent united as the saint of Europe. The saint’s closeness with Jesus gave the saint courage and boundless hope in the darkest days of his life.

The pope wished that the model of holiness may help us stay together in this time of crisis. The Pope commemorates Christians around the world who are persecuted: “Blessed are the persecutors for righteousness’ sake. He concluded by referring to Jesus’ words: “The kingdom of heaven belongs to them.”
