2017 has been adopted as the Year of Sight  on January 23, 2017 by the Archdiocese of Delhi, India.  Joining hands with The Project Vision, which based in Bangalore works with the mission, ‘Let everyone see’ is  a revolutionary step to bring hope to India’s mankind.  The decision was taken during the priest’s meeting which presided over by  Archbishop Anil J. Couto.

The social service centre of the archdiocese, Chetnalaya, is handed over the responsibility to organize programmes to spread the awareness and reach out to the needy ones.  While there are so many promotional and awareness events are set up, the archdiocese is aiming for a 300 eye transplantation, during the Year of Sight. As a first step of it, the archdiocesan priest have pledged to donate their eyes and decided to spread awareness in all the 65 parishes and 16 Catholic schools of the archdiocese.
