Tehran: Iranians arrested in Iran for accepting Christian faith Azgar Salehi, a Christian believer, was released from Eglid Prison on February 2. It is reported that Mohammed Reza Rezai, who was arrested along with him, and another unnamed Christian, will soon be released. After two months in jail, Asghar was sentenced to six months in prison.

In September 2018, four Iranian intelligence agents raided their homes in addition to Asghar Mohammed Rezai and arrested them. Interrogation for 3 days with eyes closed. Asghar, who has been in jail for 8 days, has been granted bail after submitting his business license. But on April 18 last year, the three were summoned to 101 Branch of Eglin Criminal Court. The judge, accused of campaigning against the Islamic Republic, did not even allow Asghar to speak, saying that the judge warned that Asghar was under their watch and that Christianity had to be stopped.

On September 16, the same court summoned them again and sentenced all three to six months in jail. Asghar was arrested on December 12 at his place of work. Asghar’s friend, who was released from jail, said it was not uncommon for him to be released before the detention period, which involved political and national security cases. The news, which has come out of Iran filled with news of religious persecution, is comforting to many Christians.
