Tennessee: The Tennessee State Governor, Bill Lee has declared that abortions beyond a particular time frame, where the heart of the foetus starts beating, will be illegal. The bill comes in contradiction to the strong opposition posed by the doctors of the State. Lee states in his official Twitter post that the bill is drafted with careful consideration of Pro- Family choices and also considering the most vulnerable ones. He also mentions that foetus is the most vulnerable hee, in the case and that the bill protects the rights of the vulnerable.

The Bill requires the physician to perform an ultrasound before executing the abortion. It also prohibits any Psych consults, race determination or gender determination for the fetus. Apart for exceptions in case of  Unprecedented Medical circumstances, the Bill doesn’t include exceptions for those involved in Prostitution. In his Post, Lee declares that this is one of the most ‘Pro-Family’ bills passed ever in the state.
