The Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations (FKCA) has awarded Fr. Cedric Prakash, a human rights, peace activist and writer with the Life Achievement Award. The award will be given on June 5, as part of the 24th Federation Day celebrations at St. Joseph’s Indian High School auditorium, Bangalore.

Fr. Cedric Prakash, is a Jesuit priest who is well known for his work on human rights, peace activism, social justice, etc. He has also been honoured to be a NGO delegate from India at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in 1992. Several awards like Chevalier of the Legion of Honor, one of the highest French civilian awards have been awarded to Fr. Cedric for promoting human rights, peace and harmony.

The FKCA awards have been instituted to honour Konkani Catholics for their services and achievements in various fields. The federation comprises Konkani Catholic Associations from India and other countries like UAE, USA, and UK.
