Kuwait: The First Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia, Bishop Camilo Ballin, has done so. The funeral was held last night at 10 p.m. He was 76 years old and has been diagnosed with lung cancer for the past few days. Bishop Camilo has been a favorite with thousands of Malayalees and people from other countries in Northern Arabia. He was one of the rare bishops who had been very clear about ecclesiastical doubts by e-mail.

Bishop Camillo was born on June 24, 1944, in Fontanieva, Padua. He became a member of the Kamboni Missionary Mission in 1969. In July 2005, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him the Kuwaiti Apostolic Vicar. He took up the mission on August 2, 2005. On 31 May 2011, he was appointed as the first Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia, to the Holy Throne. Details of Bishop’s funeral have not been released.
