Kochi: The KCBC has called for urgent action on the part of the central and state governments to provide medical facilities and other security measures to the expatriates in the face of the rapid spread of COVID 19. KCBC President Cardinal Mar George Alencherry has written to the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister requesting the intervention of the Central and the State Governments.

The stand of the state government is that we have a responsibility to protect the expatriate Malayalees. As a result, the public needs to take a cautious stance to prevent the spread of the disease. Cardinal Mar George Alencherry assured that the Catholic Church’s social services agencies and related institutions will provide necessary assistance to bring the expatriates, especially those from the Gulf, into Kerala, give them proper care and do all necessary services for social well-being.
