‘Walk for life’ was a sacrificial, prayerful and silent walk held on 11th December 2016 from St. Josephs Church, Powai to Mother of Victory Church, Tikujiniwadi under the guidance of Kalyan Eparchy Pro-Life Movement. The walk, where more than 200 people participated, was with the intention to save lives of unborn babies and to have an openness to life.

The unborn children those are being aborted knowingly or unknowingly.  Every new and unique human being begins his or her life at the moment of fertilization. Each one of us is grateful for this life. We are existent because our parents did not slay us in the womb or forcefully stopped through the means of contraceptives, but they took the trouble in nurturing us by sacrifice, prayers and silent journey. We too do not have the right to take away life from the ones who are willing to be here with us. During this Christmas season we adhere to Jesus, who is life, way of life and giver of life. The year of mercy with the unborn child was been reflected.

The ‘Walk for Life’ had a spiritual beginning, where Msgr. Emmanuel Kadankavil lead the participants in a meaningful Adoration.  Followed by Bishop Angelo Gracious, Bishop Emeritus of Archbishop of Bombay, did bless the participants and done the flag off ceremony. The participants walked in silence and reciting prayers.  While reaching at the destination, the participants lit a candle at the Grotto as a gesture of dedication of ‘Walk for Life’ to Mother Mary.  The event concluded with each participants pledged to save life and stand for life as a promoter of God given gift; life.
