Bratislava: Public participation services will resume today in churches in the Central European country of Slovakia. The National Bishops’ Committee has issued specific instructions on security measures aimed at protecting older believers. The committee said that the elderly were mainly affected by the COVID background and that is why the clergy were asked to pay special attention to those over 65 years of age. The bishops demanded that one of the two large parishes, which is usually held by the Divine Liturgy, receive them separately.

A clergyman should be able to check that everyone is following the rules in the parish. Before entering the mosque, believers are given information about the code of conduct. The bishops asked the clergymen of the country to mark the places to be kept within a safe distance and to ensure the continuous ventilation and cleanliness of the premises. Divine mercy is only given to the hands. There are no books or chairs on the benches. More than half of Slovakia’s cases of 1421 COVID cases have been recovered.
