Rio de Janeiro: A Brazilian court has ordered a halt to the telecast of Netflix’s Christmas show, The First Temptation of Christ, a comedy show that has become a homosexual. Judge Benedicta Abicaire issued the order on Wednesday. The order pointed out that the screening of the program would be beneficial to the Christian majority Brazilian population.

The producers of The First Temptation of Christ are Brazilian-based YouTuber comedy group Porta dos Fundos (back door). The 45-minute film is about Jesus coming to meet Mary and Ozpisa with a gay friend on his birthday. The Virgin Mary, who is the Mother of God, is also very distorted in the program. The order of the lower court comes as the program has been controversial and there has been widespread protests. The Catholic Church has filed a complaint, calling for the abolition of the program, which has hurt their religious sentiment. About 24 lakh people have signed up for an online petition alone.

Brazilian President Jair Bolzonaro and his son came out against the event, calling it “waste”. The president also tweeted that the producers did not represent Brazilian society. Many people, including Joseph Strickland, canceled their Netflix account because of the event’s Tyler Diocese of Texas. Meanwhile, reports have surfaced that the Brazilian Supreme Court has allowed the broadcast of The First Temptation of Christ to continue despite a lower court order.
