Thalassery Archbishop Mar George Naralakkattu has refused the idea of opening the bars due to changes in the lockdown period. He was speaking after inaugurating the propaganda campaign organized by the KCBC anti-liquor committee of Thalassery diocese, Diocese of Mananthavady, Diocese of Kannur, and Malabar region of Kottayam diocese. Bishop of Kannur and Bishop of Mananthavady said that the government should take steps to continue the alcohol-free atmosphere prevailing in the state for the last 50 days. Said Bishop Alex Vadakkumthala.

The Archdiocese of Thalassery, Mar Joseph Pamplani pointed out that the government should establish a policy of shutting down bars for the health and social prosperity of the people. Archbishop Emeritus Mar George Valiyamamattam wished the people and families of Kerala peace, happiness, and prayerful life. Regional Director of the KCBC Anti-Doping Committee, Fr. Chacko Kudipparambil, Fr. Thomson Kotiyat, Fr. Sunny, Fr. Mathukkutty Kulakkattukudiil led the campaign.
