Vadakkancherry: The clergyman became a model of service by making masks for all the houses in the parish. The Vicar belongs to the  Killimangalam Parish in Chelakkara Fortona.  The masks were created by Dr. Rev. Chacko Chirammal. In the parish of 110 houses, 10 masks were distributed to each household. Masks were built to comply with government law that no services should be performed in churches until there is an improvement in the numbers of COVID 19.

Women workers also worked with the KLM trade union in the parish to help make masks. The cloth, elastic, and yarn needed for making the masks were supplied by CMC Convent in Kozhali. In addition to this, the convent distributed Rs. 1000 to 80 needy families in the parish. Fr Chacko Chirammal said the parish has been adopted by the CMC convent. Christina Regi, KLM President Linto Alexander, and Jose Kaithakulangara assisted in making the masks.
