Vatican City: Pope Francis says the role of nurses in hospitality is irreplaceable. He was speaking at the Vatican earlier to address representatives of the IASAS, a joint committee of nurses, hospice care providers and childcare organizations. He said that nurses are more in direct contact with patients than anyone else, and that they care for their patients and care for their bodies every day.
“The work of nurses is very complex and requires a high degree of professionalism, which is as complex as disease prevention and healing.” The sign of referring to the care of the sick body more than any other nurse reminded them that it is good to understand how Jesus touched the leper. The Pope added that nurse practitioners need to adapt to training programs that are up to date.
