Vatican City: Pope Francis has released the Lenten Message of the Vatican in remembrance of the urgent need for repentance. The main theme of the Pope’s 2020 Lenten message is “The Apostle Paul,” in his second letter to the Corinthians: “Through us, we pray to God: be pleasing to God. The pope reminded the people that there is an urgent need for personal conversion and that Satan’s temptations and the presence of evil will create hell on earth.

The Pope’s message states that God has given us an opportunity to prepare for Jesus’ death and resurrection, and that this time of repentance should not be taken lightly. The Holy Father urged believers to embrace the Passover invitation for repentance.

Making the Passover a central part of our lives is to repent of the crucified Christ who has been wounded by innocent people, from infants born to the victims of wars and various forms of violence. The wounds of Christ also represent excessive profit, environmental issues, and human trafficking. The Pope has repeatedly stated that prayer is more than a duty but a manifestation of our need to respond to the love of God that sustains us.

The Lenten Message ends this year by saying that the Holy Virgin asks the Lord to help him to reconcile to God, to keep his eyes fixed on the Passover, and to repent and openly interact with God. The message, signed on October 7, the feast day of Queen Japamala, was released by the Vatican on 24 February.
