Vatican City: Pope Francis invites Rev. Fr. Ernesto, the dean of all retired priests, who celebrated his 100th birthday on 1st April, to offer holy Qurbana at Santa Marta. Fr. Ernesto said that like many others, he was a common clergyman and that he took up the priesthood during World War II. he said that he owes it to his sister Ananias who died as a missionary in Mozambique who inspired him to be a clergyman. I am happy and obliged to have been able to celebrate his 75 years of priesthood, with the Pope, Said Ernesto.

Seeing the tragic deaths of many of his fellows, he shared with Oscarvatore Romano the opportunity to witness the tragic deaths of many of his accomplices. Ernesto was one of five children born to a peasant family. He is currently serving as the dean of the clergy of Bologna and serving at the Castel Franco Emilia.
