BEIJING: Monsignor Joseph Xu Bayou, Bishop of Nanyang Diocese of China, is the oldest person in the world to be completely healed from coronary artery disease. He was 98 years old and was diagnosed with coronavirus on February 3rd. The medical tests conducted on February 13, last year, on prayer and treatment, found that he was completely healed. The bishop received treatment from a hospital in Nanyang. Although many other ailments have bothered him, he is still amazed at the magnitude of his illness.

Medical experts have previously said that coronavirus is very difficult for the elderly and those suffering from other diseases. But the bishop’s comeback is by rejecting all these assumptions. The death of Bishop Joseph Zoo has been reported as a phenomenon that has been reported by the media, including China’s most popular newspaper ‘People’s Daily’. Sergio Ticosi, a member of The Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions, said the bishop was happy with his release from illness.

Sergio recalled the image of Bishop Joseph, who had come to visit the faithful with his bicycle, despite his long years of imprisonment under the Chinese Communist Party. Sergio Ticosi said he was very concerned about others and served with modesty and humility until he retired due to health problems. The diocese of Nanyang, which was part of The Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions until just a few days ago, today has about twenty thousand believers. About twenty clergy and hundreds of saints from the Congregation St. Joseph serve here.
