Colombo: Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, Archbishop of Colombo, has conveyed his condolences and prayers to Italy, one of the most devastating countries of the COVID pestilence. The message, “Who Will Separate Us”, has been published with the message that they stand with Italy, assuring prayer, solidarity, and closeness. Recalling that bridges were built between Italy and Sri Lanka, Cardinal thanked the presence of Sri Lankan workers who worked in Italy, care for the sick and the elderly.

The people of Sri Lanka who are suffering spiritually and morally are associated with Italy. The Cardinal also said that he commemorates all the Italian families who had come to Sri Lanka from where they believed. He concludes his condolences by repeating that Kovid-19 is praying to be free from the pestilence. COVID has claimed 29,684 lives, affecting 2,14,000 people in Italy. 93,245 people have already been cured.
