Jashpur: Rev. Fr. Sunil Kumar Kerketta of the Diocese of Kunkuri, is said to have passed away following a road accident on his way to the Kunkuri Church. Rev. Kerketta was traveling from his home village in Peeta Amba to Kunkuri via Brahma, in a motorcycle, when the accident appeared. The missionaries and mission organizations in the region have expressed tremendous shock over the situation.
Rev. Kerketta was the State President of the Catholic Youth Wing. He was also the Education Director of the Diocese of Kunkuri.
Rev. Fr. Kerketta served in the Diocese of Kunkuri. He was fulfilling the duty of the school administrator in Chattisgarh. He was born in 1971, at Peeta Amba, Raigarh District. He was ordained a priest in 2000. He has served his priestly orders in various places and he served his last at the Bishop’s House in Kunkuri as the administrator of Mission schools and director of Youth. As per the faithful of the region, he was a very friendly and soft-spoken person; very holy and good with everyone. It is said that he loved to spend time with children and was always up for rendering his responsibilities.
The National Youth Commission and ICYM has lost a great leader. It’s a big loss for the youth ministry in Chattisgarh and National Commission, said the CCBI Youth Commission of India in their social media handles.
