Attappady: The first batch of clergy students in the ‘Preachers of Divine Mercy’ (PDM) community, started by Zion Ministries Director Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil and Fr. Binoy Karimaruthinkal, received their monastic robes. Yesterday (October 15) during the services held in the chapel of the PDM Ashram at Padavayal near Attappadi, the clergy students received their vows from the Mar Jacob. During the services conducted in accordance with the Covid standards, Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil, Fr. Binoy Karimaruthingal, Sister Aimi Emmanuel, Zion Meditation Center Director Fr. Jose Alaykkakunnel, Joint Director, Zion Meditation Center, Fr. Anthony Nedumpurath, Fr. Samson Mannoor, Fr. Joy Chembakassery, Benita CMC also attended.

In April 2018, on the feast day of St. George, Bishop Mar Jacob gave his heartfelt permission to start a pious Union of Priests called the ‘Preachers of Divine Mercy’ (PDM). At that time, the bishop had given a special task to Fr. Binoy Karimaruthinkal. The goal of the Congregation is to preach the Word with the goal of evangelizing the world and to lead a life of atonement.
