Two major events are scheduled in the agenda of Pope Francis at the end of this month: the Ordinary Public Consistory of Cardinals scheduled on June 28, and Holy Mass on the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul the following day. As announced by His Holiness Pope Francis during his “Regina Coeli” prayer at midday on Sunday, May 20, the Ordinary Public Consistory for the creation of 14 new cardinals will be held in the Vatican on June 28.

The evening ceremony in St. Peter’s Basilica will include the imposition of the cardinal’s red hat, the consignment of the ring and the assignment of the Title or Diaconate. Courtesy visits to felicitate the new cardinals are scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. the same day.

The following morning, Friday, June 29, the Pope will preside over a Mass in St. Peter’s Square on the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, the patrons of Rome.
