Holy Father Pope Francis while addressing the faithful gathered for his weekly General Audience, in St. Peter’s Square, has condemned the terror attack (bomb blast) in the Somali capital Mogadishu, which killed over 300 people. His Holiness also expressed his sorrow for the massacre that took place in the country recently and also assured his prayers for the dead and the wounded, for their families and for the whole people of Somalia.

As reported by Vatican radio, Holy Father Pope Francis remarked that “This terrorist attack deserves to be most strongly deplored, also because it falls on a population that is already suffering deeply.” Further His Holiness added, “I implore the conversion of those who are violent and send my encouragement to those, who with enormous difficulties are working for peace in that tortured land.”

The death toll in the country due to this bomb blast is expected to rise and the Somalia’s government has blamed the attack on the al-Shabab extremist group, which has not commented yet.
